Undergoing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) can be physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding. That’s why integrating supportive, holistic care can make a meaningful difference. As part of my care offering, I provide on-site acupuncture pre and post embryo transfer to help support your body and mind during this sensitive time.
Whether this is your first IVF cycle or you’ve been through several — I am here to walk beside you.
Why Add Acupuncture to IVF?
As part of my practice, I provide in-person acupuncture treatments timed to your IVF schedule, specifically:
- Improved implantation and pregnancy rates. A large 2023 meta-analysis pooling randomized controlled trials found that acupuncture given to women undergoing IVF-ET was associated with higher clinical pregnancy rates (CPR) compared with no adjunctive treatment (relative risk ~1.31).
- Reduced miscarriage risk and improved ongoing pregnancy rates have been observed in some analyses.
- Enhanced uterine blood flow, reduced uterine contractions, and improved endometrial receptivity. Acupuncture may reduce uterine artery pulsatility, supporting optimal circulation to the uterus and ovaries and creating more favorable conditions for implantation.
- Stress reduction and emotional support. The IVF process can be deeply stressful. Research suggests acupuncture may lower anxiety and support psychological wellbeing during embryo transfer—helping create a calmer internal environment for implantation.
- Support for ovarian and uterine health before IVF. Regular acupuncture leading up to stimulation and retrieval may help promote hormonal balance, reduce inflammation, and optimize uterine–ovarian blood flow.
What I Offer: On-site Acupuncture for IVF Patients
As part of my practice, I provide in-person acupuncture treatments timed to your IVF schedule, specifically:
- A session before embryo transfer (to prepare the uterus, reduce stress, and support circulation)
- A session after embryo transfer (to calm the nervous system and support implantation and recovery)
- Additional treatments as needed in the lead-up to IVF (especially helpful if you’ve had prior unsuccessful cycles or if your body responds better to supportive priming)
Each session is delivered in a calm, supportive environment — with the aim to support not just the physical aspects of IVF, but also the emotional, hormonal, and energetic dimensions that matter.
